There are new details about the highly anticipated DC flick 'Wonder Woman,' which could turn out to be a 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' prequel!
It has previously been reported that the Gal Gadot standalone movie about Diana Prince would take place a few months prior to the events in 'BvS,' with the Amazonian princess taking on Ares, the God of War as well as the powerful sorceress Circe. However, Heroic Hollywood has updated details on why Ares is making life a little more difficult for Wonder Woman.
According to Heroic Hollywood, the God of War has stolen a blade from the Amazons, a weapon that will give him the power to take over Olympus. However, the blade is useless unless Ares unlocks it by starting World War Three. Being the God of War, he can only receive power from bloodshed.
So how does the blade connect Wonder Woman's story with 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice?' Heroic Hollywood reports that the blade is lost during Diana Prince's final battle with Ares and she is searching for it in the 'BvS.'
Although the blade storyline is currently based on speculations and should be taken with a grain of salt, the said battle against Ares and the impending possibility of World War Three should give Wonder Woman a reason to be in the same universe as Bruce Wayne and Kal-El. The blade might even come in as a key item that could empower other villains in 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,' so all the more reason for Diana Prince to find it and return the blade to the Amazons.
'Wonder Woman' will be directed by Patty Jenkins while the screenplay will be written by Jason Fuchs. It was previously rumored that Nicole Kidman will portray Diana Prince's mother Hippolyta while Sean Bean and Eva Green will be playing Ares and Circe, respectively. However, the only confirmed cast member is Chris Pine as Steve Trevor.
The 'Wonder Woman' film is scheduled for release on June 23, 2017.
