Sia's recently launched the music video of her latest track, "Alive" and announced that the worldwide release of her album entitled "This is Acting" is on January 29, 2016.
With her new album ready to hit the music scene, Sia said in an interview, "I'm super productive. I have a full album ready to go and it's much more pop."
"I'm calling it This Is Acting because they are songs I was writing for other people, so I didn't go in thinking 'this is something I would say'. It's more like play-acting. It's fun," Sia said.
"Alive" features child actress/dancer Mahiro Takana, in a Japanese karate- inspired performance. The music video was shot in Chiba, Japan and was directed by Sia herself with Daniel Askill. The same creative team which made Chandelier, Elastic Heart and Big Girls Cry also handled the overall production.
Takana was certified as 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics Karate Ambassador due to her mastery and flawless Kankudai moves.
According to Sia, 'Alive' was originally written for Adele. And when Adele made a demo version of the song, Sia said, "I thought 'Do I like it, or do I like a million dollars?' She cut it and it was so amazing. I'm a huge fan of her voice."
The singer/song writer also claimed that she already became attached to the song and when it was offered to Rihanna, she was relieved when she turned it down.
Sia had been the writer behind some of the biggest pop hits of Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Maroon 5, Kylie Minogue and Rihanna with her 2012 No. 1 hit Diamonds.
"Alive" was produced by Jesse Shatkin. He also produced "Chandelier", the song that rose Sia to fame.
"Chandelier" has gone three times platinum with over 900 million views of its official music video.
