A Los Angeles newscaster is apologizing to Samuel L. Jackson for confusing him with another actor.
According to Us Weekly, Jackson went into a rage on Monday after KTLA entertainment reporter, Sam Rubin, confused him for "Matrix" star Laurence Fishburne, during a live TV interview to promote his film "RoboCop."
"Working for Marvel, the Super Bowl commercial, did you get a lot of reaction to that Super Bowl commercial?" Rubin asked the "Pulp Fiction" star.
"What Super Bowl commercial?" Jackson replied.
Rubin realized his mistake, after an awkward moment of silence, but not before being corrected by Jackson.
"You're as crazy as the people on Twitter," said Jackson, who was doing the interview via satellite from Atlanta. "I'm not Laurence Fishburne. We don't all look alike. We may be all black and famous but we don't all look alike."
During the 2014 Super Bowl, Fishburne appeared in a Kia car commercial, where he reprised his role as Morpheus from "The Matrix" franchise films.
"You're busted," Jackson continued. "You're the entertainment reporter?! And you don't know the difference between me and Laurence Fishburne? There must be a very short line for your job,"
Rubin attempted to turn the conversation back to Jackson's RoboCop remake, but Jackson continued his rampage about the celebrity confusion and listed various black actors and their commercials.
"I'm the 'What's in Your Wallet,' black guy," he said of his own commercial for a credit-card company. "He's the car black guy. Morgan Freeman is the other credit-card black guy. You only hear his voice, though, so you probably won't confuse him with Laurence Fishburne."
Rubin finally apologized, after returning to on air 30 minutes later and stated that he has interviewed Jackson several times and does indeed know who he is.
"I really pride myself on the fact that unlike a lot of people who do this kind of work, more often than not I really do know what I'm talking about," Rubin said. "But I didn't 30 minutes ago and I'm really embarrassed about it, and I very much apologize to Samuel L. Jackson and anyone else who was offended for what was a very amateur mistake."
Rubin also proceeded to apologize on Twitter.
