Everything 90s-related is coming right back in style, and that includes that big Surge 2015 comeback the Internet had been waiting for years, after The Coca Cola Company announced last year that it was bringing the beloved drink back - and fast food chain Burger King could be adding it to its menu!
It's a well-known fact that companies all over the world are currently focusing on treating the millennial generation, the group born between the 1980s and 1990s, to get them to come back into somewhat forgotten industries like the fast food one, and nostalgia's a great way to do this, which is most likely the reason for Burger King's Surge 2015 project.
According to information provided to Food Beast by an anonymous tipper, a Surge 2015 slushie is definitely on the way for the fast food chain, and it seems the first confirmation of the upcoming menu item has arrived, as their nutritional information for November included the drink until being deleted promptly after.
Business Insider reports that the first leak of the Surge 2015 slushie came through someone inside the company, who showed the world that the frozen drink would be arriving on the burger joint's menu from November 16 to January 13, in a neon green slushie looking as radioactive as the cult drink it represents.
According to The Daily Meal, the Surge 2015 slushie isn't the only big throwback addition coming to Burger King's menus, as they're also bringing back Vault soda, a beloved drink that went pretty big in the mid-90s until being discontinued in 2011.
Burger King has turned into the master chain of throwbacks this year after bringing their Chicken Fries back to the menu to massive success - in fact, the chain's sales have boosted in the past two quarter partially due to this recent addition.
The Surge 2015 slushie should be announced soon enough, on 12, 16 or 20-ounce sizes!
