Fake Pregnancy: A New Trend for Hollywood Celebrities

Jodie Marsh released a new documentary that reveals Hollywood's new ways of having a baby. According to Marsh, female celebrities are turning to surrogate to keep their body shapes.

Many celebrity moms with perfect figures even after just giving birth leave people in awe. But one fertility doctor claims that these mums did not really conceive in the first place.

Dr. Vicken Sahakian revealed that even celebrity moms who allegedly have made use of post-baby diet tips to reduce weight came to Dr. Sahakian for help in finding the perfect surrogate mother.

There are other female celebrities who were vocal about using a surrogate to have children, like Lucy Lui, Nicole Kidman, Sarah Jessica Parker and Giuliana Rancic. However, according to Sahakian, some opted to use surrogate for their career's sake.

This new 'trend' is also known as "social surrogacy." This is where a female, capable of bearing a child, chooses a surrogate mother to carry the 'pains of labor' in order to easily get back on track in terms of their career.

"Typically, these are women who prefer not to get pregnant and not to go through the process of pregnancy for many different reasons." Says Dr. Sahakian in Marsh's documentary called Making Babies.

"For instance, if you are a model or an actress and your income is based on performing and how you look and pregnancy will ruin that for a year, if not more." Dr. Sahakian added.

Dr. Sahakian is a known doctor for people opting for "social surrogacy." He works at the Pacific Fertility clinic and was able to perform over 6,000 IVF procedures with over 3,000 births.

Some of his well-known clients even used fake bumps to make their pregnancy look real.

"We are talking about well-known women.

"It would be taboo for them to admit they used a social surrogate. I have had a couple of patients who pretended they were pregnant, yes."

Despite the negative connotation of "social surrogacy," Dr. Sahakian can still see the benefit of this process for women who use their looks for a living.
