Black Market Wine Suggested To Be Poisonous

The biggest wine fraudster in history has been captured, sentenced to 15 years in prison, and is now in jail. But despite the fact that Rudy Kurniawan is in jail does not mean that fake wines aren't in circulation today.

Instead, according to researchers the production of fake wines has been more prevalent than ever and even have expanded to all price point.

Kurniawan was a well-known fraudster who sold fake collection wines to wine enthusiast and investigators are pretty sure numerous of these wines is still in circulation. Investigators believed that when the collectors bought the fake wines they were put directly into wine cellars and will be there until the next collector buys them.

Because wine fraudulent have been so pervasive in the last few years, the French government commissioned a study in China that surveys top French wine brands being sold.

The studies revealed a shocking truth about the French wines being sold in the Chinese market were almost fraud. The French government was so shock with the study that they suppressed releasing the stats for two years.

According to the lead researcher of that study, James de Roany, former president of the CNCCEF Wine & Spirits Commission, the wine problem in China has just become worst in the last neighboring year. He mentioned this problem during a conference in London, which was why he was removed from his position in November 2013.

In a one shows episode, which tackled the debilitating problem of wine fraudulence, it was clear that up to one out of two bottles of French wine in China is fake.

This causes a very concerning issue. The fact that these wines are not made from even the fruit grapes, creates a disturbing reality that people consuming wine may be consuming unknown chemicals.
