Ozzy Osbourne, known for his crazy drunken antics and ex-lead vocalist of the band Black Sabbath, will return to the state of Texas to rectify his past misdemeanor - a drunken one, thirty years ago.
The State's prime offender has on record the then-young Ozzy Osbourne drunkenly urinating on the Alamo Cenotaph in 1982 when he was in town for a concert.
He was drunk and had a bladder problem, said promoter Greg Wilson. Apparently a bad combination for a rockstar. At the time, he was promoting the band through a photo shoot with Melody Maker, an English music magazine. No one would have missed a rockstar wearing a ballerina outfit - Greg Wilson told the Express News in 1992. Wilson was the one who bailed Osbourne from jail. Wilson said that he was so intoxicated that there was a possibility that he couldn't even perform that night. But he slept it off and told everybody about it.
It's also known on public record that he's banned from the city because of his actions. As an apology, a decade after the ban, Osbourne offered $10,000 to the Daughters of the Republic of Texas for maintenance of the landmark and in exchange, to lift the probation.
The Alamo Cenotaph, also known as the Spirit of Sacrifice, is a well known landmark in San Antonio, Texas. The monument commemorates the Battle of the Alamo. It stands 60-feet tall.
In an announcement made on Wednesday, councilman Roberto Trevino stated that Osbourne will return to San Antonio and will issue a delayed apology for urinating on the monument 33 years ago. The event will be filmed by History Channel.
Ozzy Osbourne's scheduled appearance at the Alamo on Thursday will not be publicly known. Osbourne will be visiting the monument with his son and the attendance will be at a minimum.
