It's understandable that the reaction for virtual technology would be massive; this is due to the fact of the human's obsession for surreal objects.
So Lytro, one of the leading virtual reality companies out in the market today, wanted to up the game when it comes to virtual reality and so they came up with one of the sickest and most innovative cameras just yet.
The Lytro Immerge will crush all the virtual reality cameras out today. The Lytro Immerge looks like a small ball of space ship that has five layers equipped with 360 degree high resolution cameras.
The camera of Lytro Immerge that has hundreds of tiny cameras and image sensors is created to capture the entire "light field," which is what the company is well known for. Light field is the ability of a camera to capture not only colors and light but also the direction it is travelling.
"This is the first light-field-powered system for creating cinematic quality live-action VR, Nobody has thought about this end to end - from camera to storage to post-production to playback." Jason Rosenthal, Lytro CEO told Mashable.
The only setback of the Lytro Immerge camera is the massive data that comes from the camera. It also only holds about one hour of footage.
Lytro Immerge is one of those cameras that are not cheap. With its amazing capabilities, one has to expect the huge price tag it has.
According to Rosenthal, when Lytro Immerge will be on the market in 2016 it will cost hundreds and hundreds of thousands, but the company will give a lease.
One can only imagine what the Lytro Immerge can do, and how it will change cinema and videos to come.
