McDonalds Under the "Throes of a Depression"-- Is This the End for the Fast Food Giant?

News broke out that McDonald's is going through a "throes of a deep depression." As per Inqisitr website, numerous franchisees disapproved of the "all-day breakfast" and "Create Your Taste" ideas that the fast food giant is about to roll out.

As per Yahoo! Finance, one of the franchisee wrote a response letter for the survey from Nomura analyst, Mark Kalinowski that they were given in which he stated:

"We are in the throes of a deep depression, and nothing is changing, probably 30% of operators are insolvent. The lack of consistent leadership from Oak Brook is frightening; we continue to jump from one failed initiative to another,"

Another franchisee also wrote:

"The CEO is sowing the seeds of our demise. We are a quick-serve fast-food restaurant, not a fast casual like Five Guys or Chipotle. The system may be facing its final days. I have been in this business since the early 1970s but have not seen us this leaderless in all my time."

Frustrating as it may seem, the company's response to the survey was quite brief and simple. As per the news website, their only response was "get out of the system and quit the business."

Most of the franchisees complaint was the "all day breakfast" on their menu system. They opposed to the idea simply because of its complicated kitchen procedures which goes against the company's stand to simplify the menu.

One franchisee then made an additional comment by stating:

"The system is very lost at the moment, our menu boards are still bloated, and we are still trying to be too many things to too many people. ... Things are broken from the franchisee perspective."

Not only was the all-day breakfast an issue, they also oppose to the "Create Your Taste Program" which lets the costumers customize their own burgers using the fast food chains premium ingredients.

Though most franchisees opposed to the fast food giant's plan, there are also some who is inline with the idea and agreed to McDonald's terms.
