Major car companies have been dipping their toes into economical and environmentally friendly models for the past few years now. Tesla, one of the most advance car companies out there, is well known for creating electrical cars.
Recently hydrogen cars are the ones that are being extremely studied by major car companies and there is already a list of cars out in the market that uses hydrogen energy.
Although hydrogen fuel cells are quite expensive to make due to the fact that hydrogen is not a naturally occurring substance on earth, rather it is a carried. But car companies have been studying it as a renewable source of fuel energy for cars.
As of November 2013 there is a list of hydrogen fuel celled vehicles undergoing field testing, this includes Chevrolet Equinox Fuel Cell, Honda FCX Clarity, Hyundai ix35 and Mercedes Benz B-class F-cell.
And now it seems that BMW is also going into that technology.
BMW and Toyota have been secretly in partnership with each other, sharing concepts and secrets. Toyota has recently introduced their hydrogen fuel celled model, the Toyota Mirai and it seems like they are sharing their secret to BMW.
BMW on the other hand is sharing the carbon fiber technology with Toyota.
This rumored hydrogen fuel celled car of BMW was leaked on a Chinese website, wherein the model could be part of the i series BMW has. Already, there is an i2 and an i3 model; it could be that this hydrogen fuel celled car will be the i4.
The only problem is, this is only a rumor circulating on web portals. BMW did show the world a prototype of a hydrogen fueled car they were working on, but the one that has been making a splash seems to be tuned out.
The windows of the supposedly BMW fueled car is reminiscent of that of Subaru SVX, while the body of the car is straight rip-off of the Tesla Model X.
But the rendering could be for the Chinese market. As of now, it is still unsure but BMW will surely have a hydrogen fueled car in the future.
