Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman, Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan, Lucy Liu, David Cross and Seth Rogen are set to reprise their roles as Po, Master Shifu, and the Furious Five: Tigress, Monkey, Viper, Crane and Mantis - respectively - for DreamWorks Animation's latest upcoming film sequel, "Kung Fu Panda 3."
The first trailer, which was first released in June, gives a look at how Po hilariously stumbles upon his panda father without him knowing that he is actually face-to-face with his biological dad -- while his dad doesn't realize he's also already faced his own son.
But as it turns out, the plot is more complicated than it seems, as evidenced by the second trailer. DreamWorks Animation describes the plot of the film:
"When Po's long-lost panda father suddenly reappears, the reunited duo travels to a secret panda paradise to meet scores of hilarious new panda characters. But when the supernatural villain Kai begins to sweep across China defeating all the kung fu masters, Po must do the impossible - learn to train a village full of his fun-loving, clumsy brethren to become the ultimate band of Kung Fu Pandas!"
"Kung Fu Panda 3" is co-directed by Alessandro Carloni - marking his first feature debut - and Jennifer Yuh of "Kung Fu Panda 2," as reported by First Showing.
James Hong (as Mr. Ping), Bryan Cranston (as Po's father), Kate Hudson (replacing Rebel Wilson as Mei Mei), and J.K. Simmons (as Kai) have also joined the rest of the cast to lend their voices for "Kung Fu Panda 3."
Furthermore, the screenplay was co-written by Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger. The film is slated for release by 20th Century Fox.
Stay tuned for more updates and more trailers for "Kung Fu Panda 3" until it hits theatres early next year, on January 29.
