Woman Chugs and Finishes A Bottle of Cognac Instead of Surrendering It To Airport Security

We all sometimes forget the rules on liquids and beverages when at the airport and upon boarding the plane.

It's pretty natural but once we get to security check, we often find ourselves in a dilemma: whether to surrender our beloved items to airport security or not.

One Chinese woman identified as Miss Zhao was recently faced with the same problem, when she tried to bring in a bottle of imported Cognac past airport security in Beijing.

Munchies reports:

"When Zhao, a woman who appeared to be in her forties, arrived at Beijing Capital International Airport for a noon flight transfer to Wenzhou, she was stopped at the security checkpoint for trying to bring an entire bottle of Remy Martin XO Excellence, valued at roughly US $200, through in her carry-on baggage. No big deal, right? But a bit of a dilemma."

According to The Nanfang, Miss Zhao definitely did not do what is typically recommended by the United States Transportation Security Administration; on their blog, the TSA suggests that every good traveller must:

"1) Take the item to the ticket counter and check it in your baggage or a box provided by the airport.

"2) Many airports have a US Postal Service or other shipping services area where boxes, stamps and envelopes can be bought so you can ship your items home.

"3) If there is somebody seeing you off, you can hand the prohibited item to them.

"4) If your car is parked outside, you can take the item to your car."

Instead of choosing to ship, putting the bottle of Cognac in her check-in baggage, or handing it to someone else, Miss Zhao decided to "[sit] down in a corner and [drink] the entire bottle of Cognac herself."

Chugging the entire bottle by herself was probably not a good idea - she definitely got inebriated and we're sure she got a bad hangover from it.

Not only that, but reports claim that she was "acting wildly and yelling incoherently" shortly after her expensive drink. Police arrived after Zhao had fallen on the floor and actually stay there.

In the end, Miss Zhao wasn't allowed to board the flight. Her family was eventually called to pick her up from the airport and was released to the family when she was finally sober.
