'Gambit' Update: What's Up with the Film? Lea Seydoux Can't Really Say

X-Men has been making the headlines since last year after it was announced that 20th Century Fox will be doing a spin off. As per Screen Rant the film will be focusing on one of X-Men's most popular character, Gambit (which should be portrayed by Tatum).

As of the most recent report released by Cinema Blend however, it was reported that well, there isn't much update yet. It took the production to look for a director, in which they finally came across Rupert Wyatt who agreed to take on the task. Wyatt however wound up leaving the spin off.

As a result of him, leaving the team, numerous concerns flocked the production floor, and the news website was able to get an update though one of the cast Lea Seydoux who was casted to take on the role of Belladonna Boudreaux.

During the Spectre press junket, she was asked for updates regarding the status of Gambit, her response however didn't dish in much details as she just stated:

"For the moment it's . . . I have nothing to say!

She did however pair her answer with an appropriate hand shrug and a smile as the upcoming projects doesn't even have a start of production being penciled out on the calendar.

Just last year, as per the CrossMap website, the film producer Shuler-Donner, made a statement in one of her interviews as she excitedly announced that Channing Tatum will be playing as the rouge super hero despite rumors emerging that Tatum will no longer take on the role.

"It is Channing, yes, yes. He's a rogue; he's a rascal, just like Remy LeBeau. He can handle the action, as we know, and he's got a real good heart, I know him personally. He'll be great for Gambit, and he's a southerner too, he understands that world, and you know Gambit loves New Orleans."
