Justin Bieber Arrested For DUI and Drag Racing

Justin Bieber was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and drag racing early Thursday morning, ABC News reported.

The teen pop star, who was driving a rented yellow Lamborghini in a residential area, was pulled over for speeding and arrested shortly after 4 a.m. after leaving a Miami Beach club, Florida police spokesman Bobby Hernandez said..

Police said the "Baby" singer also showed "signs of impairment" and reportedly failed a field sobriety test. Hernandez told CNN the 20-year-old was taken into custody and booked on a drunken driving charge. Singer Khalil Sharieff, 19, was also arrested for DUI and drag racing, according to the spokeswoman.

"[Two SUVs} actually blocked the traffic at 26th and Pine Street so that they could race on Pine Street, almost making it like a makeshift race track," Hernandez said.

Bieber reportedly raced with a friend who was driving a rented red Ferrari. He was also reportedly charged with "resisting arrest without violence and driving with an expired Georgia driver's license." Over the past week, Bieber has reportedly been seen making stops at a strip club and a skate shop.

ABC News reported that this is the first-degree misdemeanor for the native Canadian, who can reportedly be sentenced up to six months in jail and have his license suspended for six months. He may be eligible for a program for first-time offenders. Bieber is reportedly scheduled to be released Thursday afternoon.

Police are also investigating reports that Bieber received police escorted through traffic after landing at a local airport and heading to the strip club.

Earlier this month, detectives in California raided Bieber's home in connection to an egg-throwing incident. The singer reportedly caused $20,000 worth of damage to a neighbor's house. Police seized the singer's iPhone and the security camera system

The search resulted in rapper Lil Za being arrested for possession of ecstasy and unprescribed Xanax.
