A lot of people are still wondering if the sequel to "Pacific Rim" is even in the works. The first installment was a hit and a sequel was promising, but it's hard to tell if it is still pushing through since there has been no up to date news about it. Latinos Post published a report stating that the film director, Guillermo Del Toro finally updated fans regarding the movie sequel.
The talented filmmaker announced on his Twitter that he has already given the script and even the budget he has for the movie to the studio. But as of the moment, there has been no reply from the studio yet regarding his script and budget pitch. He also guaranteed fans that they will know once he got a response from the studio.
Del Toro became negative after the studio Legendary Pictures decided to not push through with its original date of release that is in 2017. Apparently, it wasn't really the end of the story for the movie because Gamespot reported that the studio just wanted to give more time to the creative team of the project to work on their stuff to make it even more successful than the first.
Having the film removed from its original schedule was just the beginning of the project having setbacks. But there are also reports saying that the director has met with the big bosses of the studio on several occasions, since they are still very much interested in creating a sequel for Pacific Rim.
The first installment was a success, making around $411 million from all over the world. It is something unexpected because critics weren't much fans of the film. Asian countries have helped it even make more sales.
