Zach Galifianakis And Louis C.K. Team Up In New FX Comedy

Zach Galifianakis is heading to FX.

According to E! News, the "Hangover" star is teaming with Louis C.K. for a new FX comedy. The network reportedly ordered a comedy series pilot created by and starring Galifianakis and co-written by the comedian and "Louie" star.

The new untitled comedy pilot is the first project to come out of the deal C.K. and his production company, Pig Newton, signed with FX Productions, to create and produce new series, as an effort to help struggling creators kick start their projects.

Galifianakis will executive produce the new pilot with C.K., Blair Breard, Dave Becky, and Andrea Pett-Joseph and Marc Gurvitz. The announcement came at the Television Critics Association winter press tour from Nick Grad  and Eric Schrier,  the Presidents of Original Programming for FX Networks and FX Productions.

FX Productions now has 12 comedy pilots currently in production, including projects starring Billy Crystal and Stephen Falk. Actor Tracy Morgan's "Death Pact," Denis Leary's "Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll," are among the projects being produced.

Entertainment Weekly reported that actor Michael Cera  signed on to star opposite John Hawkes in FX's new series "How and Why". Galifianakis television credits include "Bored to Death," "Tim and Eric Awesome Show," "Great Job!," "Kroll Show" and voice work  for  "Bob's Burgers".

C.K., whose series "Louie" returns to FX for its fourth season in May, was nominated for several awards at the 2013 Emmy Awards.

"I think there is a consensus among TV's most significant critics and commentators that this is the best show on television," Variety wrote.
