Tom Ellis Proves The Devil Is Irresistible In New 'Lucifer' Teasers [VIDEOS]

The Devil is turning up the charm in two new TV ads for the highly anticipated 'Lucifer' TV series!

The new Fox show, which stars Tom Ellis as Lucifer Morningstar, will be loosely based on the comic book character created by Neil Gaiman for his 'Sandman' series. It follows the Lord of Hell, who decides to leave his kingdom for (where else?) Los Angeles. Lucifer gets a job as a consultant for the Los Angeles Police Department while at the same time running a nightclub and making sinners confess in public.

The first TV ad is titled 'Hotter Than Hell' and features The Devil telling his therapist (Rachael Harris) the truth about himself before crashing a wedding to make a bride confess her true feelings for her groom. It also shows an adorable interaction between Lucifer Morningstar and a young girl.

'A Hell of a Halloween' features the Devil working his charm on a police officer, who admits he likes to ride his motorcycle fast. When questioned by Chloe Dancer (Lauren German) on how he managed to slip out of his handcuffs, he admits he has "a certain skill set." There is also a brief encounter between Lucifer and the angel Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside).

At the end of the teaser, Tom Ellis has a special message for the viewer: "Have a hell of a Halloween, from everyone at 'Lucifer.'"

Naturally, a TV show featuring the Devil would not go unnoticed by Christian groups. One Million Moms had famously launched a petition to prevent the airing of 'Lucifer.' Neil Gaiman was quick to defend his comic book character, stating that 'Concerned Mothers of America' have previously boycotted 'Sandman' because it featured LGBT characters.

The author also pointed out that the previous petition was not successful. The petition against 'Lucifer' has since been taken down from the One Million Moms' website.

'Lucifer' is set to air on Fox in January 2016.
