A new series is about to be released on AMC and it is called "Preacher." It stars actor Dominic Cooper and is an adaptation of the comic book series written by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, distributed and published by DC Comics. Variety reported that this series is created by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg along with Sam Caitlin (from Breaking Bad).
The network just released a teaser for this new show and it definitely made fans curious when it was aired while The Walking Dead's Sunday episode was on. What people need to know about this new show is Cooper's character, Jesse Custer. He used to have the bad boy image, before he finally decided to become a small town preacher.
The series has lots of interesting characters like Cassidy (played by Joe Gilgun), who is this Irish vampire trying to seek refuge in Custer's town. Tulip O'Hare (played by Ruth Negga) will also be playing Jesse's ex girlfriend who will bring him nothing but trouble.
The show got an order to do 10 episodes this first season that fans can watch sometime in the middle of 2016. Lots of people are involved in this series as showrunners. Aside from Rogen, Goldberg and Caitlin, Vivian Cannon and Ori Marmur are also working with them for a production called Original Film. Sony Pictures and AMC Studios are the big wigs who are making this series possible for airing.
GQ Magazine also got a hold of the show and featured its trailer on their page. They said that religious people might not love it, but there will be a lot of people who would embrace it based on how unique the story is and how interesting the characters in it are. AMC is once again about to make a hit in 2016.
