There is no doubt that people are already looking forward to the planned Batman solo film that will be released sometime in 2018 and could be directed by Bruce Wayne himself, Ben Affleck. Although the 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' star has already been confirmed to work on the screenplay for the movie with Geoff Johns, there hasn't been a definite announcement on who will direct the Caped Crusader's standalone film.
However, new details about the Batman movie have just been leaked. According to JoBlo, the film will follow the story arc of the Batman comic series 'A Death in the Family,' where the second Robin is murdered by the Joker.
"According to our sources, the basic plotline of Affleck's solo Batfilm is that Jason Todd has returned from the grave as the Red Hood, working in the shadows to make people think he's Batman, while making Batman look like a criminal. At the same time he leaves clues about his identity for Bruce/Batman to ultimately solve, leading to a confrontation that will involve Batman, Red Hood, and yes, The Joker, who will feature as a primary villain alongside Red Hood," the site wrote.
This would mean that some of the plot might also be borrowed from 'Under the Hood,' but Batman could be getting a helping hand from the original Robin.
"According to our sources, Grayson is now Nightwing and will be referenced but not seen in 'Batman V Superman.' However, Grayson is expected to show up in the solo Bat-film, assisting Batman in his battle against Red Hood and The Joker," the site wrote.
But does this mean Jared Leto will be making an appearance as the Joker in the solo Batman film?
It has previously been rumored that the Academy Award winner is actually playing the insane Jason Todd in 'Suicide Squad.' Whether the rumors are true or not, there is a great possibility that Jared Leto will play a role in the Batman solo film.
