Reese Witherspoon the acress of "Legally Blonde" received the American Cinematheque Award at a social event dinner.
The actress was honored by actor Matthew McConaughey at that star-studded event conducted at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles.
"This whole experience is just overwhelming and unbelievable because I'm literally just a girl from Nashville who had a big dream," said Witherspoon when she took the stage to accept her award.
Witherspoon's acting career, talent, selfless nature and other accomplishments composed the speech of her past co-stars, directors, producers and friends who took the stage on Friday to speak about her.
According to reports, the 39-year-old actress' was praised fo her work in front of camera and even behind the camera by Jennifer Aniston, Matthew McConaughey, Kate Hudson, Sofia Vergara, and Jennifer Garner among others.
"I really thought if I worked hard and did my very, very best, one day I could get Matthew McConaughey to come on a big public stage and say really nice things about me," Witherspoon joked after given the award by the actor.
"I actually think that's pretty much every Southern woman's dream. This whole experience is just overwhelming and unbelievable because I'm really just a girl from Nashville who had a dream," she added.
"The roles you were the most passionate about are the ones that resonate the most today," said McConaughey of Witherspoon pointing towards her work in "Legally Blonde", "Election", "Wild" and Walk the Line".
Together with the artist is her two kids, Ava, 16 and Deacon Phillipe,12, to the event of heat. Her husband Jim Toth was also present on the event. Her family truly supports her.
She joined another honoree, DreamWorks Animation honcho Jeffrey Katzenberg. Isla Fisher and Laura Dern were among the attendees. Kenny Chesney performed a version of "Wild Child".
