Potatoes when cooked in perfect ways may taste like heaven, but researchers believe that potatoes aren't as healthy as other vegetables.

Potatoes can cause a lot of things that may damage one's health, it's hard to believe but it's true. Researchers discovered that consuming wholegrain rice and bread may cause one to gain weight but rice and bread are much better compared to potatoes. Potatoes maybe a part of everyone's diet but what they didn't know is that it can cause bad results to one's body and health. In short, potatoes can be very unhealthy.

Based on the studies of the researchers in Harvard School of Public Health, the reason why potatoes are fattening and can cause weight gain is because it is a high-glycemic-index-food which causes the carbohydrates to rank up that could quickly raise one's blood sugar. And if one's blood sugar elevates rapidly, the process of the body usually changes and stores calories as fat.

Studies have shown that the culprit behind the gaining of weight and the obesity of the people, are potatoes. It is proven in people who are usually fond of eating dishes with potatoes in it or potato-based food like potato chip, fries. Though that's not the only factor, artificial sugars that are being added to beverages, meat (processed or unprocessed) are also culprits that add up to overweight people and obesity.

Potatoes can cause one to feel a lack of energy or always feel drained. It can cause nervousness and sometimes depression. It is because eating potatoes can drastically raise a person's level of blood sugar up and lower it down below average within a short period time, that's why it could make a person feel really bad or agitated.

Researchers also found out that potatoes are worse than sugar it is because of its glycemic indices. Since the glycemic indices in potatoes are much higher than the glycemic indices in table sugars and alike.
