Daniel Radcliffe Supports Emma Watson's Gender Equality Campaign

Friendship even after Hogwarts!

Seems like Harry will always have Hermione's back! But this time it's for real, as far as Emma Watson's campaign for HeforShe is concerned - that aims to support gender equality.

"I think it's fantastic that she's bringing attention to it and adding to the conversation," Radcliffe tells Nylon for its November issue.

In a nutshell, Watson's campaign in partnership with UN Women, were targeted to men with an appeal to extend their support to the cause of gender equality; empowering women, as she pushes with the idea that equal rights for women cannot become a reality without the support from both genders.

As for the Victor Frankenstein actor, Radcliffe said treating women and men equally is pretty much part of his DNA, being raised by parents who have influenced him to be the person he is now, "bemusing, honestly, maybe because I have cool parents with a very equal marriage and have had good role models all my life."

Just recently, Hunger Games star, Jennifer Lawrence wrote an honest essay regarding Hollywood's gender pay gap that was published in Lena Dunham's site. More than the issue ofbeing payed less than her male counterparts, she goes into detail about her reasons for not fighting for more money and the way the industry labels women as 'spoiled', and being 'difficult'.

"I would be lying if I didn't say there was an element of wanting to be liked that influenced my decision to close the deal without a real fight. I didn't want to seem 'difficult' or 'spoiled'. At the time that seemed like a fine idea, until I saw the payroll on the Internet and realised every man I was working with definitely didn't worry about being 'difficult' or 'spoiled'," Lawrence wrote.

With which a number of actors from both genders, expressed their support as they desire for pay equity in the movie industry. One of the most obvious supporters of that cause was none other than Emma Watson who posted a tweet to affirm Lawrence's essay: "O Jennifer Lawrence. I love you so. x."
