Stephen Colbert Challenges Donald Trump To Donate $1 Million To Charity

Comedian-actor and television personality Stephen Colbert has challenged Donald Trump to donate $1 million to the charity of his choice to prove that a million dollar amount is really a "small" sum for the GOP presidential frontrunner, according to USA Today.

"Trump is a man who is proud to say a million dollars is a small amount of money," the 51-year old host said during the Wednesday segment of 'The Late Show'.

He went on saying, "This is the same guy who thinks 'three' is a small number of wives. Through hard work, perseverance and an accountant well-versed in bankruptcy loopholes, he became the great, magnanimous billionaire we all know today."

The news came after Trump had openly talked about the challenges he encountered outside the circle of his career, noting that all he had as a starter pack was a "small loan" from his father along with a reminder not to invest from Brooklyn to Manhattan real estate ventures.

While it didn't sound off to hear Trump's stories and at least learn where this man came from, calling $1 million a "small loan" sounded a little different.

"These days, he is worth billions of dollars, for him, a million dollars is garbage," Colbert continued. "Which is why I'm happy to announce that I've taken the liberty of writing a one-million dollar check from Donald Trump to the charity of my choice, the Harlem Child'en's Zone."

As Colbert went on talking and seemingly trying to convince Trump to take his challenge, he then showed a big prop check with Trump's signature and a brief line that reads "no big deal".

"Now, Mr. Trump, all you have to do is come here and sign it, proving that a million dollars really is a small amount of money, especially when it is helping other people get a start in Manhattan." Colbert explained.

He quickly quipped it with a statement, saying "Who knows? The kids you help might one day be so rich that they can blow their cash on a presidential campaign."

If Trump gives in to Colbert's challenge, a million dollar amount will absolutely make a change to the many lives of children from the Harlem Children Zone.

As the site's goal reads, "Our kids, the individualized support they need to get to and through college and become productive, self-sustaining adults."
