Action Bronson: Rapper Gets Emergency Surgery; Whale Blubber Meal in Alaska the Culprit?

Rapper Action Bronson, also called Mr. "Bam Bam Baklava" and who is known for insulting hip hop legends, recently underwent emergency surgery after a concert Friday in Anchorage, Alaska.

Bronson is the kind of person who loves eating exotic food, and during his stay in Alaska he was able to try whale blubber and caribou stew, according to Food Beast. However, with Action Bronson's Twitter and Instagram accounts announcing his hospitalization, it made fans wonder whether his recent exotic meals made him sick.

Fortunately, his rep confirmed that it wasn't the food that he ate which made him sick, and that a hernia from being a power lifter that had him hospitalized, according to TMZ.

On Tuesday night, Action Bronson publicized his hospitalization by posting updating his Instagram and Twitter accounts with a photo of him in a hospital bed captioned, "Well this Alaska trip turned into me having emergency surgery."

According to Bronson's reps, he was at a shoot in Alaska called "F-k That's Delicious" when he was rushed to the hospital for hernia complications. His reps added that the rapper now remains in "good spirits."

Indeed, Bronson appears fine already and fans need not feel worried for him. By Wednesday morning, the 31-year-old made two update tweets thanking fans and well-wishers. He also promised to recover and become stronger from the hospital.

"Thank u to everybody for the well wishes. Make sure u take care of ur health first," he said in one Tweet.

"I'll be back stronger than ever, trust me," he said in another.

According to MTV, the Queens-based MC had been a powerlifter before a career in hip-hop. Being a powerlifter reportedly led to the use human growth hormones, eventually triggering his hernia.

Bronson had also been a gourmet chef, and on Monday, he posted different photos of Alaskan delicacies including beluga whale blubber and caribou stew while on a shoot for his food web series, reported KTUU.
