Star Wars: The Force Awakens is almost upon us, and as expected - the rumor mill has kicked into high gear with many outlets reporting various things about the highly anticipated film. Here's a sample of some of the big ones floating around the web right now.
Some slight spoilers regarding the franchise will follow so turn back while you can.
The first concerns our little green friend Yoda. StarWarsNewsNet is reporting that the former Jedi Grand Master may make an appearance in The Force Awakens. A source close to the website 'assured' them that a scene featuring Yoda will be present in the film.
Fans of the franchise will of course know that his character passed away during Return of The Jedi, so any future appearance he makes in the saga will most likely be as a force ghost. Being the highly gifted force user that he is, it's extremely possible that Yoda could have lived on in a spiritual form and stayed in contact with Luke Skywalker over the years.
As for Luke's sister Leia - we already know she'll be appearing in the film, but MakingStarWars has detailed exactly how the iconic princess and rebel leader will factor into the plot.
Leia's first appearance in the film occurs when Brance steps in and lets her know that she has an urgent message from Poe Dameron. The pilot needs to be rescued because the Special Ops TIE Fighter he stole has crashed, leaving him marooned on Jakku - the desert planet featured in all of the film's trailers. Dameron's message prompts Leia to send forces to the planet of Takodana, which many speculate is the forest locale depicted in the trailers.
To see if all this speculation is true, we'll have to wait until December when the Force Awakens hits theatres.
