Reese's Butter Peanut Butter Cups are certainly one of America's favorite chocolates if not the ultimate fave, with many companies such as Oreo, Krispy Kreme and Dunkin Donuts teaming up with the chocolate makers in the past to make desserts - but one chain in Canada's thinking bigger by introducing the Reese's burger.
The Works Gourmet Burger Bistro, an Ontario-based growing fast food chain with 26 restaurants in the province, is not one to shy away from challenges when it comes to putting things inside a bun, but their latest creation, the Reese's burger, may be going a step too far.
According to CNBC, the Reese's burger features a half-pound beef patty with bacon, crispy onion strings and crumbled Reese's Butter Cups - and that's not even the only bit of chocolate inside those buns, as the patty itself is in fact stuff with Reese's even before it cooks.
Delish.com reports that the official name of the Reese's burger is "Reese's PBC," and it might be the first time someone chooses to put the delicious peanut butter-and-chocolate combination in a savory meal, so eyebrows around the world are raised as skepticism grows about this particular menu item.
The Works announced the Reese's burger on October 22 at a price of $15.98 Canadian, which is about $12, to oddly enthusiastic response on social media, with fans on Facebook and Twitter looking excited over trying out the odd menu item and one tester on Twitter even saying that it was "so wrong that it's right."
According to Food And Wine, the Reese's burger is being launched to celebrate the National Nut Day, but the website says it would be a much better match for Halloween, suggesting the candy as the treat and the trick as the rest of the burger.
