Judd Apatow's original movie project called Bad Moms is still going to happen, but this time it would no longer would star Leslie Mann. The Hollywood Reporter said that Mila Kunis, Christina Applegate and Kristen Bell are the ones who are taking over for the said movie.
Mann has been to almost all of Apatow's projects but she and the director decided to leave the project when it was first pitched for Paramount. STX Entertainment is now handling it but so far, no title has still be released. Writers for The Hangover Jon Lucas and Scott More are also on board and they too would write for this said project. Susan Todd and Bill Block will be producing it this time.
As for the movie plot, it will involve a mom who looks like someone's stepford wife. She is known as a control freak and found herself with other moms like her. The three would then find some things to do outside their comfort zones that they would be on a quest to experience freedom outside motherhood. The conflict in the story is when they find themselves being involved with a PTA Queen Bee who has her own set of "perfect" mothers.
The President of the entertainment company Oren Aviv said, "Jon Lucas and Scott Moore are masters at creating relatable characters that audiences instantly embrace, and then putting them in hilarious real-life situations for great comedic results."
Female empowerment is one of the goals that STX is also aiming for people to see and this is why they did cast such incredible female Hollywood actors like Kunis, Applegate and Bell.
Aviv added, "This film provides the rare opportunity for a half-dozen strong female lead roles, and we are thrilled to have assembled an exceptional cast led by Mila Kunis, Christina Applegate and Kristen Bell. We can't wait to start production and be part of the magic this team will bring to the screen."
