Experts Say Emotional Stress Can Make You Ugly So Please Stop Worrying

Mental and emotional anxieties have negative effects to your health and well-being. Many studies have already demonstrated such impacts to one's physical condition and appearance as stress basically makes you feel more exhausted, eat more than what you only should, and most of all, speed up the aging process.

Aside from these previously mentioned "side effects", prolonged strain makes you more prone to depression and eventually lets you feel less motivated, healthy and happy about yourself and your life, too.

Unnecessary worrying allows for stress hormones to be released into the bloodstream - triggering a range of physical and instinctive reactions. You may also experience sudden increased in your heart rate, intense breathing and excessive sweating.

Cortisol is a "stress-managing hormone" that tries to relax your body whenever you are faced in a "pressured" situation. However, high cortisol levels can also harm your body such as suppressing your immune system, making you gain weight and raising your blood pressure. This can make you feel sickly, pale and weak - consequently affecting your self-esteem and self-confidence.

"Over a prolonged period of time, raised levels of these chemicals can start to have a toxic effect on the glands, nervous system and the heart, eventually leading to heart attacks, increased risk of stroke and stomach ulcers," women's nutrition, health and lifestyle specialist and author Theresa Francis-Cheung said.

British behavioral ecologist Dr. Fhionna Moore also explained that when people allow cortisol to remain in their system over an extended period of time, this can be 'very bad for their health'.

The research findings show that the diminished attractiveness was blamed on the anxiety hormone cortisol, which increases the amount of glucose floating around the body while also inhibiting muscle and bone growth. Apparently, this can make someone appears to be less healthy and therefore 'uglier'.

To top it all, stressing yourself by all means really does not do anything good into your life so might as well, kiss your worries and start living a life that you deserve.
