Ever since the Taco Bell menu began including breakfast items in 2012, the chain has directly gone up against McDonald's early day proposal of foods, as the Golden Arches hasn't changed its breakfast menu items in a very long time - something that Taco Bell refuses to do.
As such, every few months, the Tex-Mex chain belonging to Yum! Brands will usually launch a new addition to the morning Taco Bell menu, all of them basically usual breakfast items that end up being cramped into a taco, with past items including the Biscuit Taco and the Waffle Taco.
Now, according to Grub Street, the latest addition to the Taco Bell menu takes a classic pastry and twists it into a taco once more, as a new Croissant Taco has been spotted around Ohio during a first trial that, if successful, could ultimately expand to become part of the chain's breakfast menu.
Bustle reports that this new Ohio addition to the Taco Bell menu, like all breakfast items of the chain before it, can come filled with three different options, namely sausage, bacon and/or eggs, to the delight of customers always willing to see the engineering feat that makes Taco Bell manage to fit just about anything into a taco.
According to Brand Eating, the first time this off Taco Bell menu item was spotted out there was last April, when a Reddit user posted the Croissant Taco online as it was being tested in a far more limited market, which has now apparently expanded to the entire state of Ohio.
It's tough to see what could be the next choice for the chain's breakfast menu, as there's still plenty of untested ground in the "things you can turn into a taco" arena, with donuts and English muffins still being possible.
Let's see if the Croissant Taco is successful enough to make it to nationwide Taco Bell menus!
