At 68 years of age, Elton John has it all, with one of the most successful careers in music history with hundreds of millions of dollars to his name, a number of awards to his name (even counting an Oscar for writing the classic "Lion King" song "Can You Feel the Love Tonight") and a beautiful family - and as Elton John Twitter reveals, an upcoming new album!
Earlier this week, the "Candle in the Wind" singer took to Elton John's Twitter to tell his fans about his next project, as the star and LGBT rights activist announced his next studio album, "Wonderful Crazy Night."
According to The Guardian, Elton John's Twitter followers 505,000 in total, were the first to find out about the next album, which by the sound of its first single, "Looking Up," sounds a whole lot like a return to the singer-songwriter's roots.
The Wall Street Journal reports that Elton John's Twitter announcement included the release of the new song as well as details of the upcoming production, including how it was recorded at the Village studio in Los Angeles and co-produced by John and T. Bone Burnett and the way it'll be released.
Expected next February, John's "Wonderful Crazy Night" will have two versions, namely a 10-song standard album and a deluxe version with two extra songs.
This is John's 32nd studio album in total, with the most recent being 2013's "The Diving Board," which peaked at no. 4 in the Billboards 200 at the time of its release.
According to Rolling Stone Magazine, the composer also announced through Elton John's Twitter that he'd teamed up with longtime writing collaborator Bernie Taupin once more to create "Wonderful Crazy Night," as the album is now available for pre-orders on iTunes - and those who order it now can already have "Looking Up."
