Mark and Donnie Wahlberg To Premiere New Restaurant Reality Show 'Wahlburgers'

TV is getting another reality show about food.

Famous actors and former musicians Mark Wahlberg and his brother Donnie have partnered with A&E to put together a new reality TV series called "Wahlburgers," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"Wahlburgers" gives a behind-the-scenes look into one of Boston's most well-known families, the Wahlbergs. For the show the brothers head back to their hometown to join forces with older brother Paul in the restaurant business.

The show chronicles Wahlberg and his brothers Donnie and Paul, mother Alma and assorted friends and family members as they run their namesake burger restaurant in Boston.

"We're thrilled to partner with the entire Wahlberg family as they graciously lift the curtain to share this new side of their story," said David McKillop, Executive Vice President and General Manager of A&E Network. "This series offers viewers a new take on the celebrity reality series showcasing one of America's favorite families."

According to Rolling Stone, Mark wanted to make one thing very clear, just because he and his family are coming to reality TV  does not mean the show will bear any resemblance to that other reality show with the famous siblings

"No, no. It's very different. It's very different. Nothing against them. They've been hugely successful," Wahlberg said about "Keeping Up With the Kardashians." "It's just about building a family business. Uh, it's just very different, very different."

Wahlbergers opened in 2011 in Hingham, Massachusetts.

It was the brothers' second venture into eateries, following Alma Nove, an Italian restaurant. Paul serves as the chef at both restaurants. THR also reports that the brothers plan on opening a new location of Wahlburgers in Toronto next year.

The youngest of nine siblings, Mark and Donnie are no strangers to being in the spotlight. Mark is best known for he many film roles, including "Boogie Nights," "The Fighter" and "Ted". Donnie currently stars in the TV crime drama "Blue Bloods" with Tom Selleck.

Both brothers were members of the popular US boy band New Kids on the Block. The brother also share a reality series "Boston Finest".

"Wahlburgers" premieres Jan. 22 at 10:30 PM ET/PT on A&E.
