Apple iOS 9.1 Releases 150 New Emojis

Apple users, especially food lovers are thrilled with the new Apple iOS 9.1 emojis released on Wednesday, Oct. 22. A number of food emojis is the first significant update to the Apple iOS 9 software for iPad and iPhone owners, and is the first time to have the full site Unicode included.

More than 150 new emojis with a new one has been added for nearly each category. Hugging face, face with rolling eyes, thinking face, prayer beads, cricket bat, mosque, synagogue, crab, Menorah with nine branches, and unicorn are some of the new emojis. Champagne bottles, turkeys, tacos, middle fingers, hotdogs, cheese wedge, and lions were included among the Unicode-approved emoji bundle as reported by Silicon Republic. New faces, buildings, locations, and sports as well as the middle finger will be utilized. The middle finger emoji is listed as Emojipedia's No. 1 this year, gaining incredible popularity.

Live Photos in iOS 9.1 is added to Apple's mobile arsenal. It has animated images that are like gifs. It has 6s Touch function that appears when pressed down. It has compatibility inclusions to Apple TV and iPad Pro. Apple News app for UK users is also included in iOS 9.1. It curates news for Time, The Guardian, and The Economist. Yibada reported that the CarPlay tools and app switcher are among the bug fixes that give automatically apps to load or people to connect depending on usage patterns of the owner's device.

According to Forbes, iOS 9.1 update can be downloaded and installed by opening the Software Update on iOS devices option under the Settings main selection. It can be also installed thru iTunes. Downloadable sizes depends on the iOS device.
