‘Power Rangers’ Casts Black Ranger Ludi Lin And Red Ranger Dacre Montgomery In ‘Mighty Morphins’ Reboot

After months of the project being in what seemed like development limbo, the reboot of the iconic 1990s television series is definitely a go now, as the "Power Ranger" cast keeps growing, with two new additions after the Pink Ranger: the Black and Red ones.

Days after Naomi Scott was announced as the Pink Ranger in the "Power Rangers" cast, the studio has told the world about two new additions to the upcoming reboot, with "Monster Hun" actor Ludi Lin taking the role of the Black Ranger while "Family Tree Pilot Trailer" actor Dacre Montgomery will be joining the film as the Red Ranger.

According to Cinema Blend, Montgomery was the second member of the "Power Ranger" cast to be announced through the movie's Twitter and Instagram accounts, as the Lionsgate production slowly extends their production team before beginning to shoot later on.

Variety reports that, later on, the studio chose the same method to announce Lin as part of the "Power Rangers" cast, with three official announcements of the upcoming film so far.

It's believed that Lionsgate will focus on a young and unknown "Power Rangers" cast when it comes to the team of superheroes, but will choose a bigger name as a villain as they bring back some of the classic characters from the old show, such as, perhaps, Rita Repulsa.

According to IGN, the studio is bringing some big names to work behind the scenes on the "Power Rangers" reboot, with screenwriting tea Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller (responsible for recent blockbusters such as "X-Men: First Class" as well as Marvel Cinematic Universe's "Thor") and director Dean Israelite, from "Project Almanac," as the franchise's set to be reinvented not long after Haim Saban, the original creator of the 1990s megahit series, acquired back the rights to his work.
