Orange Is The New Black is one of the shows that's been making huge noise in the TV Industry these days and one would assume that actors who play an integral role in the show make a lot of money. But perhaps audiences will be shocked to hear that this isn't the case. Well at least not for Taryn Manning, who revealed that she's not really making a lot of money out of it.
Cinema Blend got a hold of this issue and went straight to the source about the matter. Manning said that she films the show in New York, but she still resides in Los Angeles, where both cities demand such high cost living. Since this is the case, she ends up without time or resources to splurge.
In Manning's own words, "I don't really profit when it's all said and done. It's not like we're on this hit show that we're rolling in dough." The actress has been very vocal and open about this financial truth about being in a highly rated TV series in Hollywood.
It is true that she could always make something to save some cash and still enjoy her salary, but in an interview with The Huffington Post, it sounds like she really doesn't have the kind of luxury to do it. Her tone and answers were humbling though, mentioning that she didn't grow up with money and this is kind of a new thing for her right now.
Manning is not the typical Hollywood "it girl" that people are used to and she doesn't exactly have the lead role on OITNB, which is probably why her salary is not something everyone would expect. But the good thing is, she is making it.
