Back to the Future Day is TODAY - with Nike Debuting their Self-Lacing Sneakers with Michael J. Fox!

For the film geeks waiting for the very day that Doc Brown and Martin Seamus McFly travelled to Hill Valley California in Doc DeLorean's time machine - wait no more because today is the day!

In the second of the three film of the successful franchise of Back to the Future, Doc explains to Marty and Jennifer, whose also with them travelling - that they have arrived in the future, as the three was seen flying through the sky - because the film predicted that by 2015, streets should supposed to have flying cars as means of transportation.

"Where are we? When are we?" Marty curiously asked Doc.
"We're descending toward Hill Valley, California at 4:29 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2015," Doc replies.

In addition to the fuss that this day is making, a tweet from Nike's Twitter account suggests on Tuesday night, that they would be doing "something special" in lieu of this glorious Back to the Future day - even tagging the lead star of the 1989 film, Michael J. Fox: "@realmikefox see you tomorrow". With which netizens and film geeks concurs that the company will be releasing at least a prototype of the self-lacing Nike sneakers worn by Marty McFly in the film.

According to Mashable, Nike's designer, Tinker Hatfield, confirmed in January, that the company was working on getting a Back to the Future shoe out in 2015, just in time for the much awaited October 21, 2015. True enough, as posted in the Facebook page of the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, a video of Marty (Michael J. Fox) was seen trying on the first ever pair of the self-lacing Nike Mag sneakers! There's no word on how much the Nike Mag would be, but it was said that the shoes are to be sold at an auction to benefit the The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's research.
