Taylor Swift is one of the most successful music artists this year and she has just released a new music video entitled 'All You Had To Do Was Stay.' She said that the inspiration behind it was a dream she had about an ex-boyfriend.
The Grammy award winning recording artist has been quite known for incorporating ex-boyfriends on the lyrics of her materials, but this time, she also applied it on her music video.
GQ Magazine interviewed the pop sensation and Swift opened up to another music star who is Ryan Adams about the inspiration involved in her song. She said, "I had a dream that my ex showed up at my door, knocked on my door, and I opened it up, and I was about ready to launch into the perfect thing to say. And instead, all that would come out of my mouth was that high-pitched chorus of people singing, 'Stay.'"
The singer found the dream scary and for some reason, the word "Stay" being chanted in it became so haunting that she thought of creating it into a song. Many are probably wondering who was that ex that she was talking about, but unfortunately no one would know because she won't reveal it.
Ryan Adams is in the picture of Swift's career these days because he released his own version of Swift's "1989" album. He remixed her songs and the pop star appreciated it. She even said, "You know when actors say a line, they say a sentence, but they say it with different emphasis on different words and they completely change it? That's what you did with my album."
Billboard released an article reporting Adams' release of his cover album of "1989" back in September 21 of this year and so far, it was a hit.
