Grey's Anatomy has come a long way from being more than just a medical drama series of television. It has indeed gained a lot of fans for more than a decade of being on air. And now that one of the lead characters is gone, we're referring to Derek "McDreamy" Shepherd (played by Patrick Dempsey) whose demise made the story lighter.
The Inquisitr said that the showrunner is thinking of having its character go to new directions and have them be involved with new characters as they move on.
Design & Trend wrote about Shonda Rhimes recreating this new season into a little bit like how the show started on its first season. It means having new characters and making them find their place in the show or in the story. It is pretty much imagining going back to where it started without the character of Derek this time.
This whole new change in the story has affected more of Meredith's (played by Ellen Pompeo) character, who now is seen living with Maggie (played by Kelly McCreary) and Amelia (played by Caterina Scorsone). After such tragic things that happened in her character, the writers are seemingly kind to her role this time that she is enjoying life as she lives by the moment.
Since Meredith's husband died in the story, the writers have now thought of adding more characters to make the whole story and even Meredith's life more interesting. TV Line reported that Josh Duhamel, Ioan Gruffudd and Patrick Wilson are among the actors who would make an appearance this season.
There are no news yet about that exactly are they going to play on the story, but it feels like they would have something to do with Meredith's love life.
