Lee Daniels, the co-creator and executive producer of the hit show "Empire" is set to launch a new TV Series called "Star." Star will have a cast of four young actors, for whom Daniels has now set his mind to launch an international wide talent search to have the four roles filled.
Star will be written, directed and executive-produced by Daniels. Alongside Lee, Tom Donaghy will also be an executive producer and co-writer in the pilot of the new TV show.
Fox announced in their website that Lee Daniels has already started his search online for the next big "Star". The production for the new TV Series will start on December in Atlanta. The plot of the new TV show will revolve around four young aspiring artists and their experiences with the highs and lows of the music industry.
If you're aspiring to try your luck and become one of the four lead roles, here's a break down of the cast's qualification according to a Fox TCA session.
- Star - Star is a Caucasian 18 year old female. She's a tough chick with a bad attitude. Actor must be 18 years old or above to play the role.
- Alexandra - Alexandra is a 20-year-old, African-American female with classic beauty. She focuses on real music and is not materialistic.
- Simone - Simone is Star's younger sibling, she's half Caucasian and half African-American. Simone is 16 years old and appears to have a tragic background. Yet, she still remains cute.
- Cotton - Cotton is a half African- American and half Latina 20-year-old, with an eye for fashion. Character is transgender.
This is Lee Daniels' first project from 20th Century Fox TV signed in June. Lee Daniels continues to writes for Empire - a hit American drama series about a Hip-hop artist turned CEO deciding on the fate of his company amongst his three sons.
