With comic book fans all over the world eagerly awaiting the release of next year's exciting new film, "Captain America: Civil War," the third of the Steve Rogers saga and an adaptation to a very iconic story from Marvel Comics, it's no surprise that the stars of the upcoming film are right under the scope, and that includes Anthony Mackie's Twitter.
After having been a part of Oscar-winning films like Clint Eastwood's "Million Dollar Baby" and Kathryn Bigelow's "The Hurt Locker," these days Mackie is best known for playing the Marvel superhero, a role he has already taken in three different films ahead of the fourth, next year, so Anthony Mackie's Twitter is certainly being watched closely.
Right now, it's actually not Anthony Mackie's Twitter making headlines but rather a recent interview the actor did with Bet.com, when he spoke about GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump, one of the most controversial candidates in recent times, saying he supported him.
"When you look at Trump, he's an easy sell because you can sell him as the guy who worked his way up from nothing," said the Avenger, creating some serious Anthony Mackie Twitter buzz. "And I think if you're a 'pull yourself up by your bootstraps' candidate, people would identify with that."
According to USA Today, those comments created a huge explosion on social media, with Anthony Mackie's Twitter suddenly exploding with hate, with everyone from Black Twitter to Marvel fans taking to the social network to express their disappointment over Mackie's political endorsement, with some even joking that he was working "with HYDRA," the evil terrorist group infiltrated in all government branches in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Vulture reports, however, that after a while of hate, the actor ended up taking to Anthony Mackie's Twitter to clear the air, stating that he wasn't actually endorsing Trump but rather making a joke that was clearly misunderstood.
