It's Cake Middleton!
A British Baking enthusiast has found a sweet way to pay tribute to the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton.
Lara Clarke created a life*like miniature cake that resembles Middleton in celebration of the future queen's royal baby boy, Prince George. The edible life-like dessert feature's Prince William's wife in her famous navy blue engagement dress sitting cross-legged with a big smile.
"When Kate Middleton announced her pregnancy I created a white chocolate topper of the Duchess in celebration," the 27-year-old, told the Daily Mail. "I wanted to show that I could make anybody out of chocolate, and she's so pretty it was a lovely challenge."
Clarke, who has only been baking for two years, has made dozens of other life-like cakes, including ones modeled after Johnny Depp, Yoda, Buzz Lightyear and the Grinch. The treats are hand crafted and take hours of intensive labor to achieve their realistic effect.
Clarke's talent has led her business, Tasty Cakes, to receive requests for crazy cakes and ditzy desserts.
"I get quite a lot of crazy cake requests, mostly for birthdays or weddings," she said. "I once made a full dog head cake for a woman who wanted to celebrate her dog's birthday. I love baking, the moment I start I lose track of time, I just concentrate on making the cakes as life-like as possible."
Middleton's cake is just one in a growing number of royal recreations. Artist Alison Jackson recently spoofed intimate moments of Will and Kate at home with their bundle of joy in the bathtub together. In another set, Will changes his son's diaper while Kate looks on adoringly. Queen Elizabeth II even gets to cuddle little George in several of the photos.
