Those who loved the classic film "Edward Scissorhands" played by Johnny Depp have probably always wondered if that movie will ever have a sequel or a remake. IB Times reported about Tim Burton's thoughts of a sequel regarding one of his masterpieces and unfortunately, his answer is a no.
The 57-year-old director told Entertainment Weekly about his experience with Edward Scissorhands 25 years ago. And when he was asked if he is thinking of a sequel, he compared the idea to revisiting a nightmare. He thinks that there are certain things and projects that are meant to happen just once after they have been released the first time.
In Burton's own words, "For me, they're very singular things, and I think -- yeah, some things, I easily get why you make more movies. Trilogies and sequels and octogoni -- I get it. But for me, they're usually just singular things."
The said movie has shaped pop culture since it first came out in December 14, 1990. Depp wasn't the only A-lister on that film because it also starred Winona Ryder and Dianne Wiest. A quick recap of the summary of the film, it was a story of a man who isolated himself since his creator died. He then found himself living in a normal human community where he had to force himself to blend in. It wasn't easy because he was the only man who has hands made of scissors.
This movie hit the box office and it made around a whopping amount of $56,362,352. The character was based on a drawing that Burton drew in his early 20s. He brought it to life and became one of the most respected directors and creators in the industry of film.
