Mark Hamill Twitter: Did Luke Skywalker Really Call Princess Leia Carrie In ‘Star Wars: A New Hope’?

It's been 38 years since the release of the fourth episode (and the first chronological one) of George Lucas' multi-billion-dollar franchise, "A New Hope," and during that whole period millions of fans have wondered whether the actor fumbled a line in a big way - and now, he's taking to Mark Hamill's Twitter to set the record straight.

By the end of the year, Hamill will reprise the role that turned him into a superstar nearly four decades ago in this year's highly anticipated "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens,", so he's now talking to fans about past doubts fans may have - including that long-standing rumor that he mouthed "Carrie" instead of "Leia" near the end of the first film, fumbling the actress' name instead of the character's, which he recently addressed on Mark Hamill's Twitter.

According to USA Today, the 64 year-old actor took to Mark Hamill's Twitter to answer a fan who wondered whether he'd called his on-screen sister by the wrong name, which is to say calling her Carrie Fisher instead of Leia, which he adamantly denied.

"TOTAL BS," the voice of the animated Joker replied to user @velvetgeek on Mark Hamill's Twitter. "Actually said 'There she...' as in 'There she is.' Dialogue in that scene was dubbed. In-jokes disallowed!"

According to Cinema Blend, what prompted Mark Hamill's Twitter reply was a video posted earlier this week on Screen Rant, pointing out the mistakes in the franchise's first film, and one of the supposed bloopers was the actor saying the wrong name on camera, though we all know that's not true now.

Usually, Mark Hamill's Twitter is quite focused on answering questions by fans, and of course, as the day of his return to "Star Wars" approaches more and more, there are many more interested people in what he has to say.
