Dolly Parton Denies Stomach Cancer Rumors

Dolly Parton denies National Enquirer claims that she has cancer, saying that she indeed had been rushed to the hospital over a certain condition but it was definitely not cancer.

The legendary country singer did reveal she recently underwent surgery to have her kidney stones removed, however she insists she is already back working.

Dolly Parton has denied claims she is suffering from cancer and insists she is doing just fine. "There is absolutely no truth at all that I have stomach cancer," she reiterated.

"It is true that I had kidney stones," she added. "I had them removed three weeks ago and I am doing just fine!"
Two years ago Dolly reportedly underwent a secret surgery hoping to save her singing voice and reducing the risk of cancer, reports the National Enquirer.

The five hour operation included an implant in her esophagus to help control her gastroesophageal reflux disease.
The illness, which she has endured for years, was supposedly worsening and caused her a 20 pound weight loss.

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a condition in which the stomach contents leak backwards from the stomach into the esophagus the tube from the mouth to the stomach. This can irritate the esophagus and cause heartburn and other symptoms.

Along with the threat of eventually developing cancer Dolly was reportedly worried it could destroy her singing voice. The 69-year-old also has been promoting the opening of a new resort called DreamMore at her theme park Dollywood, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary.

The beautiful foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in Pigeon Forge, that is conveniently located next to Dolly's Splash Country and Dollywood, is built with 307 room, the resort provides families with a unique vacation experience centered around the rich traditions of story telling, family, and togetherness.

The Eagles drummer Don Henley raised concern for her health on September when he said in an interview that the bluegrass star got out of the hospital bed to come shoot a music video with him.
