With all the fast spreading cooking videos and attractive themed restaurants, who can say no to a love for food and binge eating? According to Huffington Post, one may experience constipation and discomfort on the throne as a result of an imbalanced diet or poor workout routine and constant stress. Here's what Huffington Post recently listed down as foods that should help loosen things up:

1. Raspberries

Berries always mean fibre, but raspberries make it to the top of the list with 8 grams of fibre per cup. Let it save the day by adding them to your all-time favourite breakfast stars.

2. Coffee

Coffee is famous for its caffeine that stimulates the brain and starts the day ahead but it must also be recognized for its laxative effect. Two to three cups a day is safe.

3. Water

This one's basic. Lack of water means dehydration; dehydration means rougher bowel movement. Drink enough water, at least 8 glasses a day, and then you will be safe from constipation.

4. Oranges

Not orange juice, but eat the real, whole fruit. Orange juice contains little to no fibre; a standard orange has 2 grams and naringenin, a compound found in citrus fruits that has laxative effects.

5. Prunes

Yes, for years, prunes have an outstanding record for constipation relief due to its high insoluble fibre content. One little piece of it contains a gram of fibre. Get a few of those and you will be back to normal.

6. Popcorn

Amazingly, this treat is not only for watching movies but it can be really healthy, minus the butter and cheese powder. You can get a gram of fibre after devouring a cup of it!

7. Flax

Add fibre load to your oatmeal with a tablespoon of ground flaxseed that contains 2 grams of fibre and healthy omega-3 fatty acids that are usually found in fish oils.

8. Brown rice

Set aside white rice, but make way for brown rice that has 3.5 grams of fibre in a cup. This yummy grain was found to lessen the risk for constipation in a 2007 study.

9. Spinach

Not only does spinach have the power to build muscles, this leafy green is a super laxative as well, given it has 4 grams of fibre a cup and more than 150 mg of magnesium-a mineral that is known for its purgative powers.

10. Yogurt

Considered as probiotics, the "friendly bacteria" present in yogurts promotes healthy digestive tract and improve the consistency and frequency of one's trip to the bathroom.
