The first season of CW's Jane The Virgin made a good impression to both critics and viewers. The finale was something that was intriguing considering the kidnapping of Jane's (played by Gina Rodriguez) baby.
Celebrity Café published a recap of the season premiere that aired on October 12. The first thing that people saw was Jane frustrated about her telenovela and how it was becoming too much to watch. It was weird for her as well since the music being played on her favorite show brings her comfort for some reason.
After that, the scene was pushed forward to just moments after her baby Mateo was kidnapped. The audience saw Rafael (played by Justin Baldoni) and Jane looking at photos of their baby while they are reminiscing how their friends got drunk at their wedding. It was all peaceful when a nurse came in to test Mateo's hearing and Jane was in shock because she just learned that the woman is not exactly a nurse.
Rafael was furious after finding out about it and demands to know where his son is. The scene was moved to Michael (played by Bret Dier) at a local bar talking to someone. He then got a phone call from Sin Rostro telling him she kidnapped the baby. Jane on the other hand is nervous but is just silent the whole time. Michael called her telling her he knows who has the baby.
The stress was built up in the characters of Rafael and Jane in the middle of those scenes. The New York Times also got a hold of the season 2 premiere and they even had some great things to say about how it was written. Like how religion, faith and real life was well blended in the story line.
Tune in for more of this show as it continues Jane The Virgin's second season on CW, every Monday , 9/8 Central
