David Bowie Announces Retirement

Fans of David Bowie are sad about this news because his reps recently confirmed his retirement. This would mean that the musician will no longer perform on stage at any concert, permanently. The Inquisitr said that those who would still want to experience the artist's great work can only catch a glimpse of him on different multimedia mediums like YouTube, Spotify, etc.

Bowie has stopped touring since 2004 and fans eagerly anticipated that he would have at least one more concert tomark his retirement, unfortunately, that is not very likely to happen. The recording artist has made his decision and it was said to be final.

According to John Giddings as cited by The Inquistr, "David [Bowie] is one of the best artists I've ever worked with. But every time I see him now, before I even speak to him, he goes, 'I'm not touring' and I say, 'I'm not asking... He has decided to retire and, like Phil Collins, you can't demand these people go out there again and again and again."

But there's a rational explanation to the musician's retirement and as per Billboard's report, a medical emergency that happened back in 2004 during Bowie's tour has something to do with it. He stopped any communication with anyone who would encourage him to even go back on stage and do it all over again.

It was during the Isle of Wight Festival in United Kingdom when that incident occurred. Bowie suffered from having an acute blocked artery that time, which caused him to be rushed to the nearest emergency room.

The rock star who is currently 68 years old has reached a lot of milestones in his career. He even released an album back in 2013 called The Next Day and that's one of the reasons why fans were still expecting a tour from him.
