Watch Shark Attack Seal in San Francisco Bay

There was a great deal of hubbub in San Francisco bay when numerous tourists witnessed a great white shark devouring a seal in broad daylight.

The occurrence was caught in a video wherein profious amounts of blood were seen seeping through the surface of the bay.

San Francisco Bay has always been known to be shark infested waters, with history of numerous sighting of great whites in the water. It also makes it dangerous for casual swimmers although the sharks barely care about humans.

The encounter between the shark and the seal created a ruckus among those who witnessed the gory incident.

At some point in the video what seemed to be a part of the seal was floating, with a kid on the video commenting that it looked like it was the seal's heart being dragged away.

One kid even started to hum the infamous jaws theme as the great white's dorsal fin rose above water. The tourists were horrified but were in awe by the rare sighting.

The shark was about eight to 10 feet in size; this is the normal size of an adult great white, David McGuire, director of the San Francisco shark conservation group, Shark Stewards, told the NY Daily News.

The bloody attack is good news, Mcguire said. "For me, it's pretty exciting and a sign that the health is returning to the San Francisco Bay ecosystem," he added.
