Selena Gomez Performs On The Today Show, Admits She's 'Uncomfortable' Talking About Her Lupus Diagnosis

Following earlier reports about Selena Gomez's lupus diagnosis, which came out just last week, the singer appears to be a 'little uncomfortable' when it comes to making it a topic of conversation, according to reports.

During her performance on the Today Show last Monday, October 12, where she flaunted her sexy cut-out jumpsuit, Gomez performed a series of songs from her newly released album 'Revival'.

When being asked about her most recent lupus diagnosis, the 23-year old 'Come & Get It' singer just couldn't help herself from getting a bit nervous and uneasy.

"To be honest, it's still kind of makes me a little uncomfortable to talk about it," she told the hosts, Matt Lauer and Hoda Kotb.

She went on saying, "But genuinely, I feel like I'm able to reach my fans and understand people when I am one-on-one with them, and they're kind of dealing with the same thing because I've been there. So I'm just trying to take something that maybe is negative and turn it a positive."

Turning the negatives into positives is one of the ways she can control everything that's going on in her life.

"I think ultimately I've been shifting and growing and in this transition in my life. I really want to be able to be heard, and I don't want anyone to speak for me." she said.

Besides openly talking about her current battle with her lupus diagnosis, Selena Gomez sat down for a longer interview and has also openly talked about how she handles her career despite all the downsides that she's currently into.

"The past two years have been a very transitional time for me. I've basically grown up in front of everyone, and I had an opportunity to spend my time on [my album]," she explained. "It was just me being a boss and controlling my own life. It was incredible."

Selena Gomez is getting ready for her upcoming 'Revival' world tour set in 2016 and tickets will go on sale this Saturday, October 17 at 10 a.m via ticketmaster.
