As revealed to HollywoodLife.com, the 21-year old famous singer stuck around his ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez, 23, in the course of the latter's chemotherapy treatment.
Fans buzzed noisily when the pop star and Disney Channel child star cancelled her Asia and Australia Star Dance tour back in 2013 for "some personal time".
It turns out that the "personal time" she needed was for her chemotherapy treatment. She admitted that she was sick during her hiatus from the limelight. "I was diagnosed with lupus, and I've been through chemotherapy. That's what my break was all about. I could've had a stroke," Gomez related. It must have been very hard for the young artist to suffer in secret from her illness that time when everyone was gossiping that she went to rehabilitation to cope with depression from her and Bieber's breakup.
No one knew about the unseen knight in shining armour who has been helping dear Selena fight lupus all along until now. He had been giving her comfort when times got hard, especially when she got terrified of losing her hair. "He would always tell her she's the most beautiful girl in the world, and that it wouldn't matter if she gained weight, lost her hair, or anything." An insider also exposed the little things JB would do just to make Selena feel she is not alone in her battle: JB would call Selena on Skype to create little songs he wrote and performed for her, come over Selena's place and buy her favorite food from some of the most expensive restaurants in Beverly Hills.
This may spark hope for Jelena fans who want to witness the two mend their broken relationship again but when asked about her lovelife in Daily Mail, Selena warns guys who want to date the pretty singer: "Do not try to date me right now. I'd rather be around women than men."
