With Academy Awards to his name, Quentin Tarantino has been one of the most interesting and powerful directors in Hollywood for more than two decades, and each one of his films is widely anticipated - and now that he's a couple of months away from releasing his second western, "The Hateful Eight" news becomes more and more interesting!
As previous "The Hateful Eight" news has revealed in the past months, the film almost didn't get made at all after the screenplay got leaked online, infuriating Tarantino to the point of swearing it off - but now it's only a few months away from its Christmas release, and there will be two different versions.
Variety recently spoke to the "Pulp Fiction" director and he gave the world some interesting "The Hateful Eight" news: the previously announced limited show engagement of the film, set to play at 70mm Ultra Panavision photography, will actually have 6 more minutes of footage than the multiplex version.
"The 70 is the 70... You've paid the money. You've bought your ticket. So you're there. I've got you," said Tarantino in the latest "The Hateful Eight" news, as Screen Rant reports. "But I actually changed the cutting slightly for a couple of the multiplex scenes because it's not that. Now it's on Showtime Extreme. You're watching it on TV and you just kind of want to watch a movie on your couch. Or you're at Hot Dog on a Stick and you just want to catch a movie."
As Slash Film reports, in all, this "The Hateful Eight" news means that the 52 year-old director approached both versions of the film as two different viewing experiences, which will be accounting for the different takes on how to see it - and that's why some of the scenes will change in both versions.
Ahead of further "The Hateful Eight" news, the roadshow version of the film will be premiering on December 25, while the wide release will happen on January 8, 2016.
